Volunteers At
Dickenson Community Hospital
|
|
|
Dickenson Community Hospital was originally
opened in 1986 under the name of Dickenson County Medical Center. The volunteer program
began in 1987. When the hospital was reopened in November 2003 as Dickenson Community
Hospital, several volunteers who have been members for as long as 15 years returned to
serve the hospital and the community. They are Jean Salyers, Tolby Mooney, Ruth Lilly,
Sonja McCowan, and Nicole Rife. Our newest volunteers include June Mullins, Dollie Conley,
Adam Childress, and Evelyn Cole. Since the reopening, the volunteers have worked 2,317
hours.
The volunteers are currently raising funds through proceeds from the
vending machines and through various raffles with such prizes as quilts and shopping
certificates. A future goal of the auxiliary is to open a gift shop in the hospital.
If you would like to volunteer your time to help Dickenson Community
Hospital, please call (276) 926-0357 to speak with Christy Fleming, the Volunteer
Coordinator or email her at cfleming@dchosp.com,
or (276) 926-0223 to speak with a volunteer.
